eBay + Google Home

What does it mean to reimagine retail? As a member of eBay’s New Product Development team, it meant using artificial intelligence and cloud computing to create personalized shopping experiences that extend beyond traditional brick and mortar settings.

In addition to designing eBay’s ShopBot, a chatbot to help shoppers quickly comb through eBay's inventory of more than a billion products, I also worked with Google to bring the eBay Shopping Assistant to life.

The eBay Shopping Assistant helped consumers find a great price on anything, as a buyer or seller.

eBay was one of the first to utilize multi-surface switching for shopping. For example, users could begin searching for something by chatting with eBay via their Google Home, and then eBay would send product suggestions directly to their phone.

For this project, I collaborated with the design, product management, and engineering teams to define and improve user flows. I owned the dialogue/conversational UI, determined search and filter taxonomies, and created error handling flows.
